National Caregivers Awareness Month
November marks the beginning of National Family Caregivers Month, a time to honor family caregivers, raise awareness, and share resources. The Caregiver Action Network chooses the annual theme for the occasion, which this year is “Caregiving Around the Clock.” They also spearhead sharing the news around the country, providing additional information, events and resources on their website. Inspired by the strength of the caregiving community, the GreatCall team set out to capture and share their unique experiences. Celebrating the everyday efforts of caregivers, older family members and GreatCall’s 5Star team, we present the GreatCall Heroes video series.
Celebrating Caregiving Heroes
We at GreatCall are a team that includes adult children, wives, spouses, daughters/sons-in-law, relatives, friends, and neighbors of older adults, and we want to share our stories. Watch our introduction by GreatCall’s Vice Chairman John Walsh, who knows that heroes come in every shape and size in the caregiving world. Stay tuned to meet Loretta, the eldest of six children raised by an amazing single mother. See a day in the life of Imogene, a feisty octogenarian and self-described “young chicken,” as she utilizes connected technology to stay independent. Lastly, hear the story of Annette, who became one of GreatCall’s 5Star Agents in the spirit of giving back and helping others.
